multi-faceted artist, educator, healer and author with a rich professional
career. Delighted to serve UDL with her passion for music, Zephryn, began her
professional life as a teen in her native
We are extremely honored to have Zephryn present two
healing modality workshops at the Shrine this month. Soul Journeys through Healing Sound~Friday, November 7th @
7pm Experience the soothing energies of live sound and focused elaxation.
Using the lilting strings of autoharp, bells, chimes, percussion and voice,
Zephryn guides you through an auditory “massage” designed to benefit your mind
and body, and stimulate your own inner journey. On Monday, November 17th
beginning at 7 pm Zephryn will facilitate a special session known as : BREATHING SACRED ENERGY – A CONSCIOUS
CONNECTION TO THE SOUL Learning to
breathe energy is a revitalizing and life extending practice. Drawn from
traditions of Pranayama Yoga (mastery of breath) the practice is easily learned
by people from all walks of life. In this introductory workshop you will learn
how to consciously draw in life-force (prana) and focus your body's natural
ability to cleanse, detoxify and heal at the physical, emotional, mental, and
spiritual levels. Come prepared to connect with your sacred heart and soul! (Please
arrive no later than 6:45. Wear loose waisted clothing. (Dress for comfort).
Bring a yoga mat or something to lay on, a blanket or covering of some sort,
and even a pillow - whatever you need to comfortably lay on your back for
this breathing process! Also make sure you have a bottle of water with you!) The suggested fee for each session is $25.
November is traditionally
the month set aside in our faith tradition to pray for and honor the dead. The
Sanctum of the Blessed Archangels will perform the Ritual of “Beyond the Still Waters” in remembrance
of our loved ones who have moved beyond the veil. Please submit the names of
the deceased whom you would like to remember on this special occasion. The
public is invited to attend. A love offering is requested.

The Full Moon is the most
Sacred and Powerful time to co-create healing and releasing of all that no
longer serves. The time between the Full Moon and the New Moon is the most
potent for releasing any negativity or contrasting energies. For this Full Moon
Celebra-tion and Meditation we will
honor the story of the Pilgrims and the Native
Americans coming together
for their first “Harvest Home” which began our country’s traditional
”Thanksgiving Feast.” We will co-create our honoring through drumming and
meditation. Christina will bring 2 large drums along with her Mother Drum to
synchronize our energies to the heart beat of Mother Earth and the Full Moon,
with Gratitude. Please feel free to bring your own drums or shakers, if you are
so inclined.
Fee: $20

A card titled
“the monk” created by Fr. Jorge for his
soul collage deck of cards
Bishop Seraphim offers the first of two half-day workshops to facilitate the process
of creating soul collage cards. Soul
collage is an individual creative process for deep self exploration that
combines intuition with the language of symbols, dreams, and archetypes to
create your own personalized deck of cards that may be used for divination,
,holistic integration, and contemplation. We
will be using the process of Soul Collage
™ as described in Seena B. Frost’s book, Soul Collage. The soul collage deck consists of four suits know
respectively as committee, community, companion, and council
cards. The possibilities are endless as each suit reflects archetypes and
images unique to each individual’s life journey. As the title of the work-shop
indicates, the process which is used is one of cutting, arranging, and pasting
in a collage format to create cards related to each of the four suits.
Participants are asked to bring at least 12 magazines that contain color
photos, art work, pictures, and images that lend themselves to the collage
process. A pair of scissors and a glue bottle are also required. Magazines will
be shared by the entire group. The
registration fee for each workshop is $30. The second ½ day workshop is
scheduled for Saturday, December 13th. Call Bishop Seraphim at 480
219-9633 to RSVP by Nov. 8th.

Leave some room in yourThanks- giving
holiday schedule to meditate with movement and Taizé chants. Many spiritual traditions and all of humanity
have used communal song and dance to celebrate and express meaning
of their relationship with all of life and each other.
Taize chant is a form of communal Christian
worship that grew from
the monastic community in
blossomed from Roger Shutz's (Brother Roger) desire around 1940-44 to
shelter victims of the second world war, housing and mothering orphans,
many of Jewish heritage and periodically even housing German prisoners of war. All were encouraged to continue
in the practice of their respective faith traditions. From this particular
com-munity grew a practice of tolerance and compassionate embrace of
various cultures and faiths.
The chants we will be doing this
evening are accompanied by move-ment from the Dances of Universal Peace, a
tradition inspired by Samuel
Lewis (Murshid Sam) in the mid-60's in San Francisco with the same essence
of community; sheltering those victims of the drug culture and the
profound changes of American life that were occurring at that time. Inspired
by his teachers Hazrat Inayat Khan and modern dance pioneer Ruth St Denis,
he taught that life could be lived from a
center of prayer/meditation that helps us experience the deep peace that
lives behind all faiths and all life.
Drawing from the power of these rich
traditions still practiced by many communities the world over, we will
form a literal circle of community to sing and move with Taize
chant.
A $15 offering is suggested!
