Today’s liturgy will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Mesa at 3:00 p.m. St. Mark’s is located on the s.w. corner of University & Horne. All are invited to attend.

May 11 – PENTECOST SUNDAY & MOTHER’S DAY  ~ The Divine Liturgy of the Holy Shekina - A liturgy of praise and adoration of  Holy Wisdom. Today Sister Dyanna Gough OSB , her daughter Lee Anna & Ingrid Bayer make their formal profession of faith in a ceremony welcoming them officially into the Church of Antioch. Acolytes: Bro. May 18 – TRINITY SUNDAY ~ Divine Liturgy of the East - A liturgy that is chanted almost in its entirety and traces its origins to Christian communities established in India by the apostle Thomas.  Devotional Kirtans provided by Shambho. May 25 – CORPUS CHRISTI ~ The Gnostic Holy Eucharist, written by Archbishop Stephan Hoeller, is a testament to the enlightened teachers of “gnosis” who have transmitted the knowledge of the inner light of the Christos over the millennia.  Today we honor the Presence of Christ in the Holy Sacrament with our annual outdoors procession.  Acolytes: Connie Harmsen & Jorge Garzón / Cross Bearer: Bro. Deeksha ~ Every Wednesday ~ 7:30 p.m.  Cheryl Cross and Lisa Peterson offer a transmission of divine energy which assists in the flowering of the Heart, God realization and enlightenment. Inspirational readings from a diversity of spiritual paths, sacred music, & meditation are included.  A donation of $25 is suggested.

 

Thursday, May 1st ~  ASCENSION THURSDAY ~ 7:00 p.m.       This festival day which occurs 40 days after the great Solemnity of the Resurrection, honors the Ascension of the Lord Yeshua into the higher realms of Mazaloth. Join us for Sung Vespers with the East Valley Grey Robe Benedictines followed by a festive Eucharistic  liturgy. Acolyte: Sr. Dyanna Gough  OSB/Music: Sr. Jennifer King OSB

 Friday, May 9th ~ HONORING MOTHER MARY ~ 7:00 p.m.         This celebration includes: devotional chanting, flower offerings, sacred music, guided meditation, and an outdoor candlelight procession with the Sacred Icon of Mary. The evening ceremonies conclude with the powerful ritual of “standing under the mantle of the Holy Mother.” Everyone is requested to bring a bouquet of flowers to offer the Divine Mother.  A Love offering is requested.

 Monday, May 12th  ~ 7:30 p.m. ~ The Sanctum of the Blessed Archangels This evening, members of the Sanctum gather to celebrate a powerful angelic ritual known as “The Divine Gathering of the Archangels.” The ritual is preceded by chanting of the divine names and an angelic meditation. A love offering is requested.

 

Thursday, May 15th ~ 7:00 p.m. ~ Evening Prayer with the east valley Gray Robe Benedictines consists of chanting the psalms, spiritual reading, Taize chanting, and the celebration of the Eucharist. A Love offering is requested!   

 

Friday, May 16th/ Sat. May 17th  ~ 7:30 p.m. World Premier of the Cantata “Guadalupe: Our Lady of the Roses” composed by Dr. James DeMars of ASU. This musical rendition of the apparitions of the Holy Mother of Guadalupe to Juan Diego will be performed by orchestra, chorus, and soloists at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Mesa. Fr. Jorge will interpret the role of Antonio Valeriano-the scribe who recorded Juan Diego’s story.  Fr. Jorge will have 30 tickets available at the Shrine for a discounted rate of $15 per person. Please let him know how many tickets you’d like.

 

Tuesday, May 27th   ~ 7:00 p.m. The Aramaic Prayer of Yeshua  Sufi devotee Joyce Carlson teaches meditative chant and movement in the tradition of the desert wisdom teachings of Mar Yeshua using the Aramaic version of the Lord’s Prayer. An offering of $15 is suggested.

 

This Month’s featured Saturday workshop

Saturday, May 17th ~ 9:30 – 5:00 p.m.                                   A Day with Mother Mary

 

Spend a day in the intimate presence of the Blessed Mother Mary. This workshop, facilitated by Hannelore Maria Nweke assists you in connecting more deeply with Mother Mary through guided meditation and through initiation into Mother Mary’s healing energy. Partake in the “Healing Star” ceremony and receive Mother Mary’s gift. This special retreat is $95 or $50 for persons who have previously attended.  RSVP by Monday, May 12th.
